Work
Models I have taken apart
Seven projects, newest first: what each model was set to do, how it was built, and what it actually scored.
Interpretable text classification at INSEE
Lightweight, explainable classifiers that file French company descriptions under ~700 NAF codes, with a model that predicts all five levels at once.
Predicting aortic-wall inflammation in abdominal aneurysms
Four feature pipelines for the HISA inflammation score on 369 patients. Charts plateau near chance; slide embeddings reach a test AUC of 0.717.
Lymph-node metastasis detection
Detecting breast-cancer metastases in lymph-node histology images, an ENS Challenge Data problem.
Autoregressive decoding strategies
Greedy, beam search, top-k and nucleus sampling compared on an LSTM language model trained on WikiText-2.
Discriminator rejection sampling for GANs
Four variants of discriminator rejection sampling on MNIST, from a naive rule to adaptive truncation, and the quality–diversity trade-off each makes.
Real-estate price prediction
Predicting French property prices from 40,000 incomplete listings, with nearest-neighbour imputation and a tuned XGBoost regressor.
Fraud detection in consumer-credit baskets
Gradient boosting on 116k purchase baskets with 1.4% fraud. First place on both leaderboards of the BNP Paribas challenge.
Also built: tools
Plume Handwritten note-taking app (PWA)
A handwriting notebook for a tablet and a stylus. Each notebook is a PDF in OneDrive that stays editable stroke by stroke: a pressure-sensitive pen, a pencil with graphite grain, a highlighter, lasso selection and shape recognition (hold the pen still and a wobbly circle becomes a circle). It works offline and keeps both versions when a notebook was edited in two places.
PDF Reader PDF reader and editor
A PDF reader and editor for the desktop in Python (PySide6 + PyMuPDF), with an installable offline web version. You can rewrite existing lines in place, add text, draw or import a signature, highlight and erase, reorder pages from their thumbnails, and save with a password.
